My Precious

Kind reminder: Family is God’s precious gift to you from above. Keep them very close and hold them very dear. If you have a family – father, mother, siblings, a spouse, and kids – you don’t know what God has done for you!

Christmas is likely my favorite time of the year, next to my birthday. Well, it used to be my favorite time of the year, but it’s now very nostalgic for me. But for my determination to live above circumstances, it would be my most vulnerable season.

As I listen to Christmas songs, I’m reminded of loved ones who are no longer with me. I wish for just one more mischief from Victor Kuks, a warm smile from Tene Douglas, a rib-cracking joke from Aminu (aka Ba’aba, aka Bamson), Ruth’s loving messages, or even my parents’ chastisements. I long for one more hug and commendation from my dad, appreciating a meal I cooked, or my mum telling me a story I’m not really interested in, but I’m forced to listen to for peace’s sake.

Even spending the day with those still with me is challenging due to life events, location and distance. Can you see why you should be grateful to God for the ones you have with you?

Today, if you’re together, hug them a little harder, squeeze them tight, and let them feel the love oozing out of you. Tell them you love them. If you’re far away, call and appreciate them for the memories you’ve made together.

The Christmas star shines once a year, but the warm spirit of Christmas remains in us regardless, because Jesus gave us the gift of love. Let them know how grateful you are to God for the gift of them, while you still have the chance. Fill their hearts with the warmth of your loving words and actions today and always.

I especially want to thank you for being a part of my life. I’m grateful to God I still have you. My life would have been incomplete without you. I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

May our most outstanding victories of 2024 become the warm-up stage for our wins in the New Year, 2025, in Jesus’ name, Amen!

See you in the new year.

Love,

Kim
